The Centro Difusor del Aceite del Bajo Aragón is a joint promotion initiative by the Designation of Origin “Aceite del Bajo Aragón” Regulatory Council and Barbacil. Its main purpose is to bring the most genuine product of the Mediterranean diet to the consumer’s table: extra virgin olive oil.

There is a whole world and culture of oil to discover. The Cento Difusor del Aceite del Bajo Aragón, situated in Barbacil’s shop, which has been open to the public since 1917, is available to answer any queries you may have.

The Centro Difusor del Aceite del Bajo Aragón is a multiservice area including a shop with a great variety of brands of “Aceite del Bajo Aragón” and a Tasting Room. Information, publications, consultations, direct, permanent contact with the “Aceite del Bajo Aragón” Regulatory Council del are just some of the specifications that can be found in this innovative centre.

The Shop
At last! All the extra virgin olive oils from Southern Aragon have been brought together in a single common area so that customers can choose whichever one they like best. We are sure that the aroma of our extra virgin olive oils will evoke the memory of the olive-oil mills of the villagaes of Southern Aragon and the natural environment in which the Empeltre variety, the symbol of the quality of our liquid gold, is cultivated. Furthermore, there are publications and additional items on the world of oil to help you truly enjoy one of the greatest culinary treasures.

The Tasting Room
Our tasting room was the first to open in all Spain, and after having become established as one of the most prestigious wine-tasting centres, it has now embarked on the exciting adventure of olive oil tasting. In close collaboration with the “Aceite del Bajo Aragón” Regulatory Council and the specialists of from its panel of tasters, beginners’ courses in olive oil tasting are held monthly, free of charge. This is a monographic course that is run with the purpose of initiating the student into the culture of oil, the art and technique of tasting, processing and the most common defects.

The dates of the courses are:

January: 17th
February: 14th
March: 14th
April: 18th
May: 16th
June: 13th

From 6.00 to 8.00 pm. Admission free.
