New “Aceite del Bajo Aragón” Promotion Campaign in prestigious restaurants

The new year’s production of olive oil from Southern Aragon is already present on the tables of some of the best restaurants in Zaragoza

As though they were dealing with a new wine, processors of Aceite del Bajo Aragón, are placing the youngest oil of the area on the best tables for their customers to enjoy. Following several months of olive harvesting, the extra virgin olive oil is now ready to offer its best quality to the public. For this reason, the Designation of Origin “Aceite del Bajo Aragón” Regulatory Council is setting up a significant campaign in the most prestigious restaurants in Aragon.

For many years, around the olive tree planted in The Courts of Aragon, those responsible for the D.O. would highlight the importance of consuming the oil young because it is young oil that has the best properties. And for this reason they would offer the President the first olives collected and, later, the first oil of the year.

They now add a new dimension to the promotion and put on the tables of twelve of the most prestigious restaurants some of the oils of the area to give their customers, the general public, the chance to obtain first-hand knowledge of how these oils are processed and to appreciate all their qualities. Together with the basket containing six bottles of oil, there are some oil purchasing guides and a corporate leaflet of the Designation of Origin.

The restaurants that offer the new oil to taste are Aragonia Paradís, La Granada, El Mar, Gayarre, La Ontina in the Gran Hotel, La Bastilla, Campo del Toro, El Club Náutico, La Prensa and La Parrilla de Albarracín, all in Zaragoza; El Val D’Onsera Restaurant belonging to the Complejo Hostelero Sella in Villanueva del Gállego and El Patio de Goya Restaurant in Hotel El Patio in La Almunia de Doña Godina.

By providing the opportunity to taste the different oils, all of which are registered in the Designation of Origin, olive oil is presented as a unique product with great personality with its exquisite, smooth and fluid texture, smoothness that distinguishes it from the other extra virgin olive oils on the market. Its clear, yellow appearance is characteristic of the Empeltre variety and its flavours recall the fragrance of the olive tree.
