The Principal of Torre Ramona School was awarded the “Aceite del Bajo Aragón Prize” in the drawing contest held for Heart Week.
For two days, the response to the “Heart-Healthy Area” set up in José Garcés Municipal Sports Centre was a huge success.
This time round Calanda Peaches also participated with the publication of a book containing recipes using this famous fruit from Teruel.
November 27th: Yesterday, the chairman of the CRDO Aceite del Bajo Aragón, Alfredo Caldú, handed over the prize cheque for the purchase of school material to the Principal of Torre Ramona school, Carlos Herranz, as winner of the drawing contest that was held for Sports and Healthy Heart week. The presentation took part in the Heart-Healthy Area set up in José Garcés Municipal Sports Centre.

One hundred and fifty consultations were made through the 900 line and the website to the experts of the Aragonese Cardiology Society and the Aragonese Sports Medicine Association. All kinds of people (young people, adults, elderly people), asked a wide range of questions regarding heart diseases, vascular risk, suitability of certain kinds of physical activity or sport, risk in sports practice, nutrition for sportspeople, overweight and obesity, etc. In short, this initiative is becoming more and more popular every year.

The Heart-Healthy Breakfast was held today in Torre Ramona school. 90 children from fifth and sixth class primary attended. In a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere they asked the chairpeople of the Aragonese Cardiology Society and the Aragonese Sports Medicine Association various questions. We were also fortunate enough - and the children were delighted - to enjoy the presence of César Laínez, who was bombarded by a series of questions and anecdotes. At the end, good old César signed autographs and wrote dedications to all the participants at the breakfast.

One hundred and fifty sportspeople participated in the Cardio-Aerobics Master Class in Príncipe Felipe Pavilion. For an hour and a half a varied and enjoyable class took place, with special emphasis on heart rate, rhythm, recovery period, transitions to exercise and rest, etc. All in all, this initiative received great support from users, both in terms of participation and satisfaction with this novel experience.

The 3rd Sports and Healthy Heart Week was officially inaugurated.
Mr Luis Pastor, Councillor for Sports, presented all the activities of the Week and the main new development with respect to previous years. He was accompanied by Alfredo Caldú, Chairman of the Designation of Origin “Aceite del Bajo Aragón” Council; Ms Fabiola Martinez, on behalf of Caja Inmaculada Savings Bank; Dr. Jesús De Juan Montiel, Chairman of the Aragonese Cardiology Society and Mr Javier Alvárez, on behalf of the Aragonese Sports Medicine Association.

A series of top Aragonese sportspeople supported the "3rd Sports and Healthy Heart Week", an initiative promoted by Zaragoza Deporte Municipal with the expert advice of the Aragonese Cardiology Society and the Aragonese Sports Medicine Association.
These sportspeople are: Paola Mercadal (player for Man Filter women’s basketball), Elmira Dassaeva (European runner up in Competition Aerobics ), María José Pueyo (Marathon Champion of Spain), Alberto Zapater (Real Zaragoza Football Club player), Alberto Angulo (CAI Basketball Club player) and Amadeo Sorli (CAI Handball Club player for Aragon).
